Ladies through to the Quarter Finals of the County Cup

Guiseley Ladies travelled to Wigton Moor in the last 16 of the County Cup to earn a well-deserved place in the quarter finals with a 4-0 win and an impressive first half performance.
With the results in the league not going Guiseley’s way recently, the ladies put all that behind them with an outstanding first 30 minutes which saw Lindsey Hopton grab her first hat-trick for Guiseley after some great team play and attacking mentality. The ladies took the game to the young Wigton Moor side with a comfortable first half lead which also saw Caroline Hulme get her first cup goal to add to her league goal tally.

The second half saw the introduction of subs Kristy Rimpas and Sarah Lawn who added fresh legs and pace to the game. Guiseley also had 3 goals disallowed for offside by poor decisions.

With a strong defensive display Guiseley held the score to finish 4-0 with the Guiseley goalkeeper left with little to do apart from a long-range looping shot which saw a great save late on in the game.

Player of the match went to Lindsey Hopton for her great hat-trick and attacking play.

Guiseley host St Francis 2000 at Nethermoor Park next Sunday which marks a return to the league fixtures and an important game.
