Jake Lawlor Retained For 2025/26 Campaign

We are delighted to announce that Jake Lawlor has been retained for the 2025/26 season.

The centre back made 43 appearances last season after returning to the club for his second spell.

In the 43 appearances Lawlor was a mainstay at the back keeping 18 clean sheets along the way and scoring three goals, including the winner against Scunthorpe United in the Emirates FA Cup.

The popular defender was previously with the club from 2013-18 before moving on to AFC Fylde.

Lawlor has now made 250 appearances for the Lions scoring 21 goals across his six seasons at Nethermoor.

Jake initially joined the club from Harrogate Railway after then manager Steve Kittrick was impressed when the two sides met in a West Riding County Cup game at Nethermoor.

Lawlor has also played for Wrexham, Hartlepool United, Harrogate Town, Salford City, Bromley, Darlington, Liversedge and Ossett Town.

More information on further players under contract and our full retained list will be announced in the coming days.
