Home Clash With Darlington To Be Streamed Live On YouTube For Free

The Lions return to action and Nethermoor on Tuesday night after a 20 day break with Darlington the visitors and the game will be streamed live for FREE on YouTube.

As fans are still not able to attend we want to make our matches as accessible as we can, we would encourage anyone to “pay what it’s worth” via our Crowdfunder page here to help cover our matchday costs. Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel to be the first to hear about our latest video uploads.

We are still incurring matchday running costs of around £800 per home game and whilst we’re still awaiting the details of the government’s financial package, we would ideally like to see these covered. Any funds raised in excess of this figure will be put towards purchasing upgraded equipment for our excellent Guiseley Radio team, who voluntarily provide match commentary at all games home and away.

Watch the game live here from 7:30pm on Tuesday.

The Lions haven’t played since a 1-1 draw at Boston United on 27th October when Nathan Newall scored a late equaliser to take a point home from Lincolnshire. After a two week isolation period following a positive Covid-19 test within the playing squad and another postponement due to a number of Chester’s first team squad also testing positive Marcus Bignot and Russ O’Neill’s men are ready for a return.

The 2020/21 Vanarama National League North campaign has been stop start to say the least with five postponed fixtures due to Covid-19 and our participation in the Emirates FA Cup, only three league games have been played by The Lions so far, which will be the lowest in the division come kick-off on Tuesday night, with some teams already having played eight games.

Marcus Bignot and Russ O’Neill’s side have won one, drawn one and lost one of their opening three league games with Tuesday’s opponents Darlington winning one and losing three of their four fixtures.

Darlo were in action on Saturday but fell to a 2-1 home defeat to AFC Telford United.

Their clash with Boston was abandoned late on after defender Nicky Hunt sustained an injury, Nicky is on the road to recovery now after a hospital visit and the best wishes of everyone at Guiseley AFC go to him on his road to recovery.

The Quakers have reached the second round of the Emirates FA Cup and face a trip to Bristol Rovers at the end of month, they knocked out Prescot Cables, Tadcaster Albion, Cambridge City and Swindon Town to get that far in the competition.

Darlington name former Lion Will Hatfield in their squad with the midfielder scoring on his last visit to Nethermoor Park in a 2-1 win for his new side, The Lions got their revenge 10 days later at Blackwell Meadows with a 3-0 win when Hamza Bencherif and an Aram Soleman brace completed the perfect away performance.

You can watch Saturday’s game in full on our YouTube channel for free, we would like to keep the streams free for all but need your help so please donate here if you can.
