Joao Silva’s second-half strike secured Guiseley a point at home to Stockton Town, writes David Bridson.
Silva’s powerful effort from a narrow angle flew past despairing Anchors goalkeeper Nathan Harker in the 74th minute.
The leveller cancelled out Amar Purewal’s neat 16th minute header.
The play-off chasing visitors penned an injury hit Guiseley back straight away as Adam Nicholson and Lewis King took punts from long distance.
Purewal struck the post in just the fifth minute – his deft flick cannoning off the woodwork into Joe Cracknell’s grateful arms.
The same dangerous player hit wide when one-on-one with Cracknell six minutes later.
The opener, quick-fire though it was, had been coming following relentless Stockton pressure.
Jack Emmett thumped the Lions’ first attempt straight at Harker in the 21st minute.
Jordan Thewlis’ free-kick deflected off the sturdy Stockton wall four minutes later as Guiselely built momentum.
Calum Hudson’s near-post header fell into Harker’s clutches before the same Lions man made a superb block to prevent Purewal.
Ollie Brown’s vigorous 32nd minute run concluded with a curling effort which sailed over the bar on his 150th appearance for the club.
Cameron Painter slammed a shot straight at Cracknell eight minutes later as both sides battled for supremacy.
John Lufudu’s header via Harrison Hopper’s decent 43nd minute cross could only find Harker.
Emmett’s added-time attempt slid past the post as Guiseley ended the half on top despite being behind.
Both sides began the second half strongly but King nearly doubled Town’s lead with a 47th minute shot which slipped narrowly wide.
Six minutes later Lufudu worked his magic to create space in the oppostion box but his effort sneaked past the post.
The crafty winger was millimetres away from connecting with a cross in the 56th minute.
Lufudu, a thunderous threat to the Town defence, made a surging run on the hour mark but his ball in was well blocked.
Jake Petitjean’s 66th minute free kick flew straight at Cracknell as the Anchors looked to seal the game.
Emmett’s sly cross was seized upon by the quick-diving Harker with 20 minutes to spare.
Silva’s fierce finish brought about a frantic final 16 minutes.
Josh Scott struck over in the 76th minute before Hudson put his body on the line to block Cameron Painter’s attempt.
Town just about managed to scramble a menacing Guiseley attack clear a minute later.
Stockton survived a second goalmouth melle five minutes from time.
Guiseley worked hard to clear a final opposition attack in added time.
The hard-earned draw sees Guiseley move up to 12th in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division.
The Lions are next in league action at Morpeth Town on Saturday 24th January with a 3pm kick-off.
