Guiseley Ladies gain valuable first points

Guiseley travelled the long trip to Whitley bay last Sunday and came away with their first three points of the season.  A fantasic all round team performance saw Guiseley take an early lead 20 minutes into the game with a breakaway goal from striker Caroline Hulme. This was followed by some end to end football with Whitley Bay putting pressure on the Guiseley defence causing goalkeeper Erin Boswell to make some valuable saves.

An early injury to Katie Jesson saw Abi Garland come on in midfield, after minutes on the pitch Abi smashed home a top corner screamer to make it 2-0 at half time.

Both teams came out fighting in the second half with both teams playing some fantastic football, with both sides coming close to scoring. With ten minutes left in the game Whitleys pressure paid off when a saved shot fell to the Whitley Bay striker for them to make it 2-1. Guiseley held on well to make the final score 2-1 and a well deserved 3 points on the board.

Man of the match went to goalkeeper Erin Boswell.
