Guiseley AFC, currently third in the Blue Square Bet North, are looking to the future as they launch a Football Academy side as part of their Community Football activities. They have joined forces with a specialist sports college and will be offering youngsters between the ages of 16 and 19 the chance to combine studying for a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport at Carr Manor High School with the opportunity to play in the Football Conference Youth Alliance League in the 2012/2013 season.
Teams that currently play in the Northern Division of this league include the likes of Mansfield Town, FC Halifax Town,
Fleetwood Town, Boston United and Birmingham City Blues, all of whom will provide a really challenging environment for those involved in the squad.

An open night is being held at Carr Manor High School on Thursday between 4 pm and 6 pm, with initial trials planned to take place before Christmas.
Guiseley AFC Chairman Phil Rogerson said: “We’re delighted to be able to announce this link and think it will serve as a real boost to the club going forward as we strive for the Conference Premier. This will allow us to not only develop talented youngsters but form a link with a top local school.”
Anyone interested in furthering their academic career in this way is urged to get along to the open evening or can email the school on footballacademy@leedslearning.net or the club on guiseley.football@hotmail.co.uk or by phone on 07557 790446
