Guiseley AFC and Guiseley and District Lions fund holiday for a local family

Following a donation by Guiseley AFC resulting from their success in reaching the First Round of the FA Cup the previous year which entitles the Club to a share of the gate from the following seasons Football Association’s Charity Shield game,  Guiseley and District Lions funded an ‘Away From It All Holiday’ for a local family in need of help provided by the Bradford Diocesan Mothers’ Union.

Since 1997, the Bradford Diocese Mothers’ Union has owned and run a caravan at Primrose Valley near Filey to provide ‘Away From It All Holidays’ for families experiencing difficult or stressful times, and in need of a break. The six-berth caravan is on a well-run park with facilities such as play areas for children, a swimming pool, shop, café, and entertainments. The cheque was presented on the 19th October by Sheena McNeillage (on behalf of Guiseley & District Lions) to Irene Wright of the Bradford Diocesan Mothers’ Union.
