Following the news this morning of Marcus Dewhurst joining on a season long loan, we can confirm that George Sykes-Kenworthy returned to Bradford City last week following the expiry of his initial loan spell.
Joint manager Russ O’Neill had the following to say regarding the loan: “George had a real positive loan with us, however his loan agreement was that he could be called back at any point by Bradford if an injury occurred to their 1st choice goal keeper. Gary Bowyer at Bradford City was outstanding with us in his honesty about the situation and we thank Gary and George immensely”
“I’ve been in constant contact with Sheffield Utd about Marcus’ availability and when I got the call, It was something we felt we had to act on. Marcus genuinely loved his time with us last season and he was really keen to make this happen, we are extremely lucky to have both Marcus and Lloyd Allinson at our club.”
We’d like to thanks George for his efforts whilst with The Lions and wish him the best of luck in his future career.
