Don’t forget your paintbrushes this Saturday and Sunday, as Nethermoor plays host to the first GAFC Painting Weekend. Gates open at 9.30 am, and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
Manager Steve Kittrick has confirmed that he and the players will be coming along to Nethermoor after training (about midday) to see how the refurbishments are progressing, and thanks to the sterling efforts of contractors, volunteers, Neil Shackleton and Neil’s brother-in-law they will see:
- Dressing room refurbishment continuing apace, with a swap of Home and Away rooms, new seating and signage, etc.
- Turf that was being laid today (Monday) as part of the widening/ levelling process
- New drainage that has been installed and is already having a marked effect – no flooding in the usual areas despite the torrential downpours of the last couple of weeks.
- Tarmacing of the Car Park end, now complete and providing much more space behind the goal.
In addition:
- New Dugouts and the two new fences are on order and due for installation prior to our pre-season friendly against Huddersfield on Saturday 21st July.
- Installation of new signage is imminent, as is the cladding of the equipment container (replete with logo) and the new compound next to the seated stand installed just before the end of last season.
