We can confirm that Scott Garner has left the club and Will Thornton’s loan at Gainsborough Trinity has been extended.
Garner has left the club to re-join Boston United for an undisclosed fee.
Scott signed for The Lions from FC Halifax Town in the summer of 2018 and made 41 appearances over the last 18 months for The Lions, scoring twice.
He leaves with our best wishes for the future.
Meanwhile Will Thornton’s loan at The Northolme has been extended for a further month until 1st February 2020 with Guiseley having the option to recall at 24 hours notice.
The academy graduate centre back has enjoyed his time with Trinity and has been nominated for their Player of the Month for December alongside former Lions Curtis Morrison and Kingsley James as well as our goalkeeper Lloyd Allinson who remains there on a dual registration agreement.
Thornton scored in Gainsborough’s Boxing Day 5-1 demolition of Grantham Town, a game which also saw Rob Atkinson get the hosts only goal whilst Curtis Morrison bagged two for The Holy Blues.
We’d like to wish Will all the best for his loan period at Gainsborough.
