Five Loanees Return To Parent Clubs

With the 2018/19 season now at an end we can confirm that our five loan players have returned to their parent clubs.

We’d like to thank Marcus Dewhurst, George Cantrill, Josh Langley, Lewis Archer and Michael Fowler for their efforts whilst with the Lions.

Marcus Dewhurst joined at the back end of December and has been an ever-present in goal since making 23 appearances.

The 18 year-old shot stopper has impressed during his work experience loan and returns to now Premier League side Sheffield United.

George Cantrill arrived on loan on 12th January and made his debut away at Chester in a 1-1 draw and saw his loan extended after impressing during his first month at the club and scoring the equalising goal in a stalemate at home to Stockport.

Cantrill has played a range of positions including left back and left winger in his 17 appearances and joins Dewhurst back at Bramall Lane.

Defender Josh Langley saw his loan from Southport extended multiple times after he first joined on 12th January also making his debut at Chester.

Langley returns to The Sandgrounders after making 14 appearances at centre back this season.

Lewis Archer has struggled with injury during his loan but has fought back twice to make four appearances with his final game coming at Kidderminster on Saturday.

The striker returns to parent club Hednesford Town who include former Lion Alex-Ray Harvey in their squad.

Finally Michael Fowler joined The Lions on The National League’s registration deadline day of 28th March on a Youth Loan.

The young striker made five appearances during his short time with The Lions and returns to Fleetwood Town to start his first full season with his parent club.

Good luck for the future lads!
