Adam Boyes’ second-half brace ensured Guiseley a replay courtesy of a 2-2 draw with FC Halifax Town in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup at The Shay on Saturday.
A lacklustre first half saw the Lions fall behind to Sam Walker’s free-kick 13 minutes in before Kingsley James kept his cool in the final third to finish past Steven Drench on the stroke of half-time.
After a sluggish start to the second half, Mark Bower changed formation and personnel and saw Boyes pull one back with a well-placed finish from the edge of the area.
And soon after, Boyes ensured a replay when he timed his run perfectly to avoid the offside trap and lobbed Matt Glennon, much to the joy of the 162 travelling supporters.
The replay will take place at Nethermoor on Tuesday (7.45pm kick-off).
