Farsley stalemate wraps up pre-season

The Lions’ last outing before the season proper starts next Saturday ended in a 0-0 draw at Throstle Nest, although the visitors should have been ahead at half-time having failed to convert three good opportunities.

More worryingly, though, are injuries sustained by defenders Danny Hall and Danny Lowe, who were both substituted in the first half.

Guiseley opened brightly, Oli Johnson firing just wide when clean through before putting another effort just over the angle.

Jake Lawlor also put one over the bar as the vistors continued to press for an opener.

Hall’s header was well saved by Taylor before Lawlor’s wayward clearance gave Marcus Edwards a chance, but Steven Drench was alive to the danger and cleared upfield.

Adam Boyes was next to try his luck but pulled his shot just wide. Lowe had been replaced by Jack Stockdill and Hall had limped off, Kyle Harrison coming on to replace him.

The second half was a more even affair, with few chances for either side. The nearest the Lions came to breaking the deadlock was Redmond Lee’s shot, which Taylor got down to save.
