A dominant Guiseley served up another feast of football with their passing, movement and one-touch game leaving Vauxhall chasing shadows for much of the ninety minutes.
The only blot on the home side’s copybook was the dismissal of keeper Steven Drench for bringing down Liam Nethercote, Josh Wilson stepping up to convert the consolation spot kick, and a hamstring injury to Danny Boshell which will keep him out for around two weeks.
Prior to that the Motors defence had suffered a torrid time, with first Lee Ellington latching on to Gavin Rothery’s defence-splitting pass to fire wide of Scott Tynan and then Danny Forrest’s diving header giving Tynan no chance. Forrest proved to be a threat for much of the game, and Andy Taylor was probably relieved to be subbed after being turned every which way by the striker.
Second-half substitute Simon Baldry then bagged a brace, scoring with his first touch, a stooping header from Toner’s cross, then finishing off some good work by Alex Davidson to beat Tynan with ease.
Lee Dames earned himself a straight red for a two-footed tackle midway through the second half and Drench pulled off a magnificent save while going the wrong way to deny Craig Mahon.
Tynan also made several good stops to keep the scoreline respectable, the pick being a full-length save from Burns following a flowing five-man move.
