Guiseley AFC legend Steve Dickinson was in the England Seniors squad which completed a hat-trick of wins in the Seniors World Cup in Thailand.
They defeated Scotland 4-0 in the final on Saturday.
The Lions’ goalkeeping coach and veteran of over 500 games for the club like many of the England squad plays for Harrogate Veterans.
Steve, substitute ‘keeper in the final, was not the only former Guiseley player in the England squad as winger Lee Elam and striker Jason Price also won World Cup winners medals and both actually scored in the final.
Scotland gave England a great game playing with heart and conviction.
Only one goal separated the teams at half-time, Mark Saunders’ headed effort giving England a slender lead.
England found their rhythm in the second-half, doubling their lead through Jason Price, before a quick fire double by Lee Elam and Steve Jones put the game out of reach for Scotland.
England defeated Iran in the semi-finals whilst Scotland defeated an Australian team that included former Guiseley striker Gavin Knight.
