Guiseley ended their pre-season preparations with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Ossett Albion on Tuesday night.

The Lions travel to Welling United for their Vanarama National League bow on Saturday and Mark Bower was able to give game time to the likes of Liam Dickinson, Gavin Rothery and Ben Parker in the hastily-arranged friendly.

There was also room for a number of trialists and, as Bower later admitted, the performance was somewhat disjointed in the final third.

A glanced first-half header from Gibril Bojang settled the friendly with all eyes now turning to Saturday’s season-opener at Welling.
