We are delighted to announce the signings of Isaac Currie and Jack Ryan with both eligible to feature in this afternoon’s Emirates FA Cup opener against Atherton Collieries at Nethermoor Park.
Isaac and Jack have both been on trial in pre-season and have impressed Joint Managers Marcus Bignot and Russ O’Neill to earn a contract for the 20/21 campaign.
Currie, formerly of Burton Albion, Ilkeston Town, Philadelphia Fury and Grantham Town has featured in our friendlies against Thackley, Worksop, Mickleover and Stockport where he suffered concussion in the final minute of the game which ruled him out of the trip to Chesterfield.
The 24 year-old defender has enjoyed a varied football career so far and returned to England from a spell in America mid way through last season.
Jack Ryan has also enjoyed his football abroad having just returned from a two year spell in Australia with Olympia FC Warriors.
The 24 year-old striker started his career with Preston North End and had loans at Stalybridge Celtic, Stockport County, Morecambe and Southport whilst with PNE, he then joined Bradford (Park Avenue) before moving north to Workington.
Jack has also been on trial with the club in pre-season featuring in the Stockport County, behind closed doors training match and Chesterfield friendlies with Marcus Bignot and Russ O’Neill moving quick to sign the 24 year-old.
