Guiseley recorded their first away win in the Vanarama National League on Saturday as Tom Craddock struck late on to ensure a 1-0 win over Braintree Town.
The Lions boasted a six-game unbeaten run ahead of their trip to Essex but were forced to survive a number of scares in the first half as Michael Cheek struck the post.
However, Wayne Brooksby also found the woodwork before the interval and Mark Bower’s continued to threaten in the second half.
The introductions of Craddock, Nicky Boshell and Zac Thompson helped add a freshness to the Lions’ efforts and the visitors were rewarded when Craddock registered his second goal for the club.
The former Portsmouth man tapped home at the near post to claim maximum points, as Guiseley warmed up for Friday’s televised game with Lincoln City with a victory.
