Visitors Bradford City showed their class to score three first half goals to register a comfortable win in their first outing of the season.
On a sultry afternoon in front of just under 1,800 Lewis Clarkson grabbed the first of his brace beating Steven Drench on twelve minutes with a low shot into the corner.
Matthew Dolan added a second with a sweetly struck free kick over the wall midway through the half before Clarkson converted his second just before the break after Drench had managed to parry Sam Wright’s shot.
With virtually wholesale changes at halftime, the Lions came more into the game, having made little impression on a resolute City rearguard in the first period, without creating any meaningful openings.
