Guiseley came from a goal down to beat a makeshift Bradford City side 2-1 at Nethermoor on Tuesday – Adam Boyes with both goals in a 2-1 win.
While Mark Bower named a strong side against his former club, City handed opportunities to a number of youngsters and trialists, the visitors taking the lead through Adam Dury before the break.
However, two second-half goals from Boyes sealed the turnaround – his first coming from Danny Boshell’s lofted pass before he turned home Nicky Boshell’s cross.
The Lions face Bradford Park Avenue and Curzon Ashton before getting their maiden Vanarama National League campaign against Welling United.
