Bower Gives Early Squad News

With eleven weeks until the start of the 2015-16 season, Mark Bower has already begun the task of assembling a squad for our debut campaign in the Vanarama National League. Today we asked the manager for a statement on the current news of who may be staying and going from the promotion-winning squad.

“Andy Holdsworth has left the club to take up a full time role in Barnsley’s Academy. We thank him for his efforts and professionalism during his time with us and wish him every success in the future. He’ll always be welcome at Nethermoor.

“Oli Johnson, Jake Lawlor and Liam Dickinson are under contract for next season. Danny Lowe, Ryan Toulson, Danny Hall and Adam Boyes have all agreed deals so far.

“Offers have been made to Steven Drench, Danny Ellis, Ben Parker, Gavin Rothery, Wayne Brooksby and Nicky Boshell, which they’re currently considering. I’ve also invited Jack Stockdill and Jordan Hendrie back for pre-season.

“Steve Dickinson has been offered a new role as our goalkeeping coach, and will remain registered as a player too.

“Alex Johnson and Kyle Harrison have also departed and again we thank them for their efforts and wish them good luck.

“The Management Team have held talks with various potential signings in the search for quality players to improve the squad from last season and we’ll be meeting more in the coming days and weeks.”

As signings are made, we will continue to bring you the latest news here on the website and on our Facebook page and Twitter feed.
