Bower brings in hitman

We are pleased to announce the loan signing of striker Alex Johnson from FC Halifax Town.

After Saturday’s defeat to Boston, player-manager Mark Bower told this website, “I think we need a bit more in the squad and certainly at the top end of the pitch”.  Bower has quickly reached out to his former boss at Halifax, Neil Aspin, who in turn agreed to loan the talented 21 year-old to the Lions.

Guiseley fans will remember Johnson from the local derby matches last season, most painfully when he scored the first goal at Nethermoor in the play-off semi-final second leg.

Johnson will be available for the squad immediately and could feature in tomorrow’s home match against our nearest neighbours Bradford Park Avenue.

Avenue return to Nethermoor for FA Cup tie

Following their visit tomorrow evening for a Skrill North league game, Bradford Park Avenue will return to Nethermoor in eleven days’ time to face the Lions in the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round on Saturday 28th September (3pm kick-off)  after the two West Yorkshire clubs were paired together in today’s lunchtime draw.
