Battling Burscough twice came from behind to force a 2-2 draw and a replay at Nethermoor on Tuesday.
Tom Craddock had given the Lions an early lead and then had a goal chalked off for offside as the visitors led at the break only to be undone by a penalty, which Michael Monaghan despatched with aplomb.
Danny Lowe restored Guiseley’s lead with five minutes remaining but slack marking at a corner left Will Jones with a free header to square matters a minute later.
The game started with the home side on the front foot and a ball across the visitors box was left wanting – Adam Boyes just short of latching on to a through ball shortly after.
But as the Lions gradually adjusted to the game the same player was released down the right hand channel and his cross was converted by Tom Craddock sliding in at the far post.
Craddock the had a what looked like a legitimate goal disallowed by a late offside flag and despite having the greater share of possession the Lions were unable to increase their lead going into the break.
The visitors continued in the same vein on the restart and Burscough hopes were boosted when the Lions conceded a penalty on 72 minutes with Monaghan sending Daniel Atkinson the wrong way with a perfect penalty.
Danny Lowe drilled in a shot on 84 minute, which Calvin Hare was unable to keep out, but Jones popped up a minute later to set up the replay on Tuesday.
