The Lions claimed their first points in the Vanarama National League courtesy of a 1-0 win over Altrincham at Nethermoor on Tuesday.
Mark Bower’s side dominated the first half and gained their reward through Rob Atkinson’s powerful header from a Danny Lowe corner.
However, after the break the visitors got into their stride and were unfortunate not to claim an equaliser – Michael Rankine unable to get a decisive touch on a dangerous delivery from the left.
Guiseley missed chances to put the game to bed but, in the end, the hosts held firm to see out the win and get on the board in the top tier of non-league football.
