We can confirm that Head Therapist Ash Proctor will leave the club following Saturday’s season opener against AFC Fylde.
On 2nd February 2018 Ash Proctor, who has a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports and Exercise Therapy and an MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine, became Head Therapist for the first team following his previous two seasons working with our academy.
After three and a half years Ash is moving onto pastures new, he has secured a role as a university teacher in Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation at Leeds Trinity University. During furlough, Ash had an opportunity to become a visiting lecturer at Leeds Trinity and he really enjoyed this role. When a full-time position was advertised, Ash was invited to apply, and he obviously impressed as he was offered the job.
“During my time visiting lecturing, I really enjoyed the role in developing undergraduate Sport and Exercise Therapists, finding this particularly rewarding. I have really enjoyed my time at Guiseley AFC and will pop along to watch matches whenever I get the chance, to support the team. I am hoping to continue to maintain close links with the club through student placements; with the Academy and Centre of Excellence training at Trinity I am sure to see familiar faces around the campus”. Once a Lion always a Lion!
We’d like to thank Ash for all his hard work at the club for the past five seasons and wish him the best of luck with his new career and hope to see him back at Nethermoor soon.
