The Lions have added another fixture to their pre-season schedule, on Saturday 4 August when they will travel to last season’s EvoStik NPL First Division North Champions AFC Fylde for a 3 pm kick-off.
AFC Fylde are based in Warton, midway between Preston and Blackpool. They are following in the wake of local rivals Fleetwood Town, and have signalled their intention to ascend the Pyramid with the recent signing of James Dean from FC Halifax Town.
AFC Fylde play at Kellamergh Park, Bryning Lane, Warton, PR4 1TN.
- EXIT the M55 at Junction 3 M55 (signposted A585, Fleetwood/ Kirkham).
- At the end of the exit road turn left, following signs for Kirkham. After about 3/4 mile you will reach a roundabout. Take the second exit, on to the B5259, following the signs for Wrea Green and Lytham St. Anne’s.
- At the next roundabout (500 yards) go straight on, and after another 1/4 mile you will cross a railway bridge and drop down almost immediately to a small mini-roundabout (with the Kingfisher pub on the left).
- Continue straight forward for another 200 yards to a roundabout, the junction with the Preston/Blackpool A583. Go straight across and drive on into Wrea Green Village.
- At the second mini roundabout in the centre of the village (Church on right and Primary School) take the left turn into Bryning Lane, signposted (small white signpost) Warton (2 miles). The Green will be on your right as you exit the village.
- After 1.8 miles you will see the Birley Arms pub on your left. Turn left into the pub car park and continue through and down an access road to the Main Club Car Park, located behind the Main Stand.
- Approximate mileage from the Motorway to the ground is 5 miles, and it will take about 10 minutes.
