We will host Barnsley at Nethermoor for our final pre-season friendly.

The League One Tykes will visit Nethermoor on Sunday 2nd August in a 2pm kick-off for our last friendly fixture ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Tickets will be available to purchase on the day at the turnstiles with cash and card payments accepted. Tickets will be priced at £10 adults, £5 concessions/U18s and £1 U11s.

2026/27 GAFC Season Ticket Holders will gain half price entry, just show your season ticket at the turnstile.

It will be the first clash between the two sides since 2024 but Barnsley have loaned several of their youngsters to us over the past few seasons including Leo Farrell, Joe Ackroyd, Lewis Gould and Chris Sang.

Barnsley finished 15th last season in the third division of English football and will be hoping for an improved campaign this time around.

Daniel Stendel has returned to the dugout for the Reds in what will be his second spell with the club after he achieved promotion to the Championship in his first stint.
