We can confirm we will face Blackburn Rovers’ U21s in a pre-season friendly at Nethermoor next month.

Ian Richards’ men will face the Premier League 2 side on Friday 24th July in a 7:30pm kick-off.

Tickets will be available to purchase on the night at the turnstiles with cash and card payments accepted. Tickets will be priced at £10 adults, £5 concessions/U18s and £1 U11s.

2026/27 GAFC Season Ticket Holders will gain half price entry on the night, just show your season ticket at the turnstile.

Richards previously played for Blackburn Rovers and will be in the dugout against his former club.

Blackburn’s U21s side was managed by Gregory Vignal who recently left his post. They compete alongside Premier League academy teams such as Chelsea, Man United, Man City, Arsenal, Leeds United and Everton among many others in the U21 league.

Recognisable names to have gradutated from their academy include David Raya, James Beattie and Matt Derbyshire.
