We are delighted to announce the signing of Adam Lund following his departure from Alfreton Town.
Adam is our second new recruit ahead of the 2026/27 campaign with Ian Richards saying the midfielder, who can also play in defence, will bring experience, physicality and energy to his team.
Here’s what the gaffer has to say about his new signing: “Adam is a player I have admired from his early days at Staveley Miners Welfare. Since joining Alfreton, he has become a leader, a competitor with 250 games of experience at National League North level, with a high number as captain. Still only 27, he will bring that experience alongside quality, physicality and energy to the squad.”
The 27 year-old has spent the previous six seasons with Alfreton after coming through Barnsley’s academy set up.
Lund’s first taste of senior football came in 2018 when signed for Goole following his release by the Tykes.
After a season with Goole Adam made the move to North Yorkshire to play for Pickering Town and a year later he joined Staveley Miners Welfare where he caught the attraction of his new boss.
Lund spent two campaigns with Staveley and made a three division leap to sign for Billy Heath at the Impact Arena in Derbyshire to play in the National League North.
During his two years with Staveley they finished 7th and 3rd respectively but his second campaign was cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic with his side just two points off top spot with three games in hand.
Lund was crowned Alfreton’s Supporters Player of the Season just a few weeks ago and made his 200th appearance for the club in August 2025.
The midfielder was integral to an Alfreton side which made the play offs in back to back seasons and played alongside several former Lions including George Cantrill, Nathan Newall, Jake Day, Connor Branson, Dayle Southwell, Milan Butterfield, Scott Garner, Ken Digie, Kwame Boateng, Joe Stacey, Akeel Francis, Billy Whitehouse and George Sykes-Kenworthy.
He also linked up with current Lions players Jordan Thewlis and Ollie Brown during his time in Derbyshire.
Adam’s home, away and training kits are available to sponsor, please email james.pickles@guiseleyafc.co.uk for more information.
