Guiseley suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of boisterous Bamber Bridge, writes David Bridson.
The in-form visitors took the lead through a coolly slotted home Ewan Bange penalty on 47 minutes.
Brig doubled their advantage courtesy of Archie Thomas Lang’s sublime 69th minute finish.
The rearranged game, contested at a bitter and misty Nethermoor, began with the opposition in control.
Jack Baxter’s early shot from distance immediately highlighted their attacking intent.
Jack Emmett fired over from outside the box in the tenth minute as the Lions looked to get a foothold in the game.
Former Lion Kofi Moore, who replaced Baxter in the 16th minute, caused chaos on his old stomping ground.
Bridge instantly increased their attacking threat with Moore’s introduction.
Lewis Gould, making his home debut, saw his 18th minute effort well saved by an alert Aidan Dowling.
The lively Chris Churchman’s strike from range was deflected wide four minutes later.
The combative Jordan Thewlis’ surge forward was halted by a tremendous Oluchukwu Nwankwo tackle mid-way through the half.
Moore’s fierce 33rd minute attempt flew just over the bar.
Two minutes later Calum Hudson’s dazzling run concluded with a strike high and wide.
Hudson made a smart challenge to deny a Brig attack with two minutes of the half to spare.
But when Lang was brought down Bange converted the subsequent penalty by sending Joe Cracknell the wrong way.
There were loud shouts for a Lions penalty when John Lufudu’s 50th minute cross appeared to hit a Brig arm but referee Dominic Jackson waved away appeals.
Moore’s flick via the dangerous Nwankwo’s cross trickled wide in the 55th minute.
Olly Molloy’s cross was caught well by Cracknell two minutes later.
The sturdy Hudson once more blocked a menacing opposition attack in the 67th minute.
But Lang increased the opposition’s lead from a narrow angle via Moore’s pinpoint cross just two minutes later.
The visitors refused to settle for two as Molloy’s edge-of-the-box curler sailed over in the 75th minute.
Five minutes later leading goalscorer Thewlis hit home from close range but was ruled offside.
Lebrun Mbeka’s opportunistic strike was kept out by Dowling’s scrambling feet two minutes later.
Brig substitute Jamie Allen struck straight at Cracknell with four minutes to spare.
The defeat sees Guiseley remain 11th in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division.
The Lions face Lancaster City at Nethermoor on Saturday 7th February with a 3pm kick-off.
