We are delighted to announce the return of Leo Farrell on loan from Barnsley!

The popular striker has signed for his third spell with the club on loan until 3rd January 2026.

The 19 year-old hit seven goals in 15 appearances last season having initially joined the club after impressing in a pre-season friendly for his parent club where he hit a hat trick on his return from injury.

Leo scored important goals for the Lions and marked his debut with a brace against FC United of Manchester at Nethermoor, a game in which he earned the Man of the Match award and his side bagged the points in a 3-2 win.

He would go on to hit goals against Bamber Bridge twice, Hyde United and Worksop Town.

Farrell has been working with Barnsley’s first team all season featuring in some of their pre-season friendlies before making his senior debut against Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup in August. He came on as a half-time substitute in the tie and struck home his penalty in the shootout victory to mark his professional debut after 10 years with the club.

He also featured in the Reds’ win over Rotherham United in the same competition and against Notts County last month in the Vertu Trophy.

Farrell has signed in time to feature in tomorrow’s clash with Ilkeston Town at Nethermoor.
