Guiseley will be looking to recover from a chastening defeat on Saturday when Prescot Cables visit Nethermoor on Tuesday evening, writes Scott Kelly.
“It was a performance I was embarrassed by. I didn’t see it coming because we were so good last week. They’ve not had to do much to score goals, but we deservedly got beat”
Mark Bower issued an apology and couldn’t hide his disgust as his side lost 4-0 at Leek Town on Saturday. The club’s last defeat by the same margin was back in November 2023.
Team News
Liam Ridehalgh and Jake Wright remain the sides only injury absentees, with Joao Silva still away on international duty with Sao Tome and Principe.
Lucas Odunston was available from the bench on Saturday and is likely to remain so for Tuesday night.
Due to the sides poor performance, Mark Bower may be looking to make some changes with Sam Bentley, Jack Emmett and John Lufudu all pushing for starts.

The Opposition
The Cables enjoyed a 10th placed finish last season in what was their first season back at this level since 2008-09 season.
Their 2-1 home win over Morpeth Town on Saturday was only their second victory of the campaign, but four draws and only two defeats mean they come into Tuesday’s game three points better off than the Lions.
Centre-back Peter Clarke has served many EFL clubs with distinction, and at 43-years young can be found in the Cables back line alongside club captain Liam Hollett. Calvin Hare can be found between the sticks. Ex- Leek midfielder Tom Scully and Jack Goodwin can be found in the midfield, with Ben Elliott and Finlay Cross-Adair, who joined the club permanently over the summer from Fleetwood Town.
Their manager is Steven Daley, who has been in charge of the club since February 2023. There was some controversy however as Daley resigned shortly after their promotion to the Northern Premier League in 2024 following a summer of turmoil at the club. He was re-instated four days later.

Previous Meetings
The Lions lost 2-0 on Merseyside when the sides last met in February. They did however win by the same scoreline at Nethermoor in November 2024, when goals in both halves from Will Longbottom sealed the victory.
These are the only two meetings between the sides since 2009, with the Lions doing the double with 6-3 and 4-0 victories during the 08/09 season.
