We are delighted to announce that Joe Cracknell has signed a new contract with the club for the 2025/26 season.
Goalkeeper Cracknell started every first team game for the club last season racking up 50 appearances and keeping 19 clean sheets.
The 30 year-old joined the club in the summer from Scarborough and solidified the number one shirt as his own.
Over the course of the season Cracknell worked alongside goalkeeping coach Danny King and academy keeper Spencer Booth.
On his partnership with King the shot stopper said: “Thankfully with the guidance and sessions that Danny King has given me we’ve got a great relationship and one which I feel is helping me with my game massively.”
Such was the impact the keeper made he was named the 2024/25 Craig Shearstone Guiseley AFC Supporters’ Club Player of the Season, joining Steven Drench and Jonny Maxted as recent goalkeepers to have won the trophy.
Joe’s arrival at the club also saw Scholar’s Bar continue their support of him by sponsoring his home and away kits last season. The Scarborough based bar also sponsored our third shirt and purchased the former players tunnel to display in the pub which has attracted a lot of attention of social media.
Joe came through Hull City’s academy and joined Scarborough on a loan deal in the 14/15 season before returning there on another temporary switch in the following campaign.
Cracknell spent two years at Bradford City before joining Simon Weaver at Harrogate Town for four seasons. He then made over 100 appearances for Scarborough before sealing his move to Nethermoor.
More information on further players under contract and our full retained list will be announced in the coming days.
