Combative midfielder Jamie Spencer joined The Lions on 5th June 2019 after two years at Bradford (Park Avenue).
Spencer joined Avenue initially on loan from Huddersfield Town, where he had been a member of the Under-23 squad after captaining the Under-18s.
The central midfielder, who is equally comfortable in defence, joined Mark Bower’s Avenue on loan in March 2017 before making the move permanent that summer.
The Horsfall provided familiar surroundings for him as his mother Jayne was the club’s Community Development Manager
Spencer made 80 appearances for BPA with four goals to his name.
On 9th July 2021 it was announce Jamie Spencer had made a return to Nethermoor following a season away at Spennymoor Town.
Jamie made 23 appearances and scored six goals during the cut short 2019/20 season despite missing a chunk of the campaign through injury.
On 2nd June 2022 it was confirmed that Jamie had left the club to sign for Bradford (Park Avenue)
Spencer made 47 Lions appearances across his two spells.
On 1st February 2025 Jamie Spencer re-joined the Lions for a third spell with the club to reunite with Mark Bower and Danny Boshell.
Jamie made his third Lions debut later that afternoon having left Pontefract Collieries in December 2024, after leaving Nethermoor Spencer spent two years with Bradford (Park Avenue).
