The Lions return to Emirates FA Cup action on Saturday with a home game against near neighbours Bradford (Park Avenue) in a game which is anticipated to draw a bumper crowd, writes Adam Bridson.
With the international break continuing there is no Premier League or EFL games taking place at 3pm on Saturday in West Yorkshire why not get your football fix at Nethermoor this weekend.
Tickets will be available to purchase from our turnstiles on Saturday priced at:
- Adults: £14
- Concessions (Over 66s/Students/Registered Disabled): £10
- 11-18 Year-Olds: £5 (All U16s must be accompanied by a responsible adult)
- Accompanied Under-11s: £1
All turnstiles will accept card payment for entry except turnstile 4 which will be cash only, if you are wanting to pay with cash you must use turnstile 4.
Season tickets are not valid for this fixture.
Please arrive early as it’s expected to be busy and queues could form at turnstiles close to kick-off.
‘The Lions’ magazine will be on sale for £3 from sellers near each turnstile and our Club Shop.
Cash payments are accepted for magazines and 50/50 cash draw tickets, although if wanting to pay by card for the magazine you can do so in the Club Shop with selected 50/50 sellers also accepting card.
Food and drink from The Lions’ Diner and Guiseley Grill can be paid for by cash or card and the clubhouse accepts and prefers payment by card.
If you are travelling to the game by car please park considerately and respect local residents on the surrounding streets, paid for parking is available in the Netherfield Road car park which is a short walk away from turnstiles 5-8.
Team News
Ian Richards is likely to still be without Aaron Martin, Adam Lund and Will Longbottom for this game with the trio currently recovering from injury.
Lucas Odunston returned to start the last two games and Frankie Sinfield has continued to build up his minutes after missing pre-season.
Kyle White and Jordan Thewlis could also both miss the game but Jack Emmett is expected to be available for selection again.
The Opposition
Bradford (Park Avenue) sit third in the Pitching In Northern Premier League East Division a point behind leaders Liversedge.
BPA have won six and drawn three of their nine league games so far and have progressed through three ties in the FA Cup to reach the penultimate qualifying round.
They have seen off Mossley 4-0, Curzon Ashton 2-1 and Lancaster City 1-0 – all their have come away from the Horsfall.
Avenue have only tasted defeat once this season, that was in the FA Trophy at Stalybridge Celtic where former Lion Liam Tongue struck to haul Celtic level in the tie.
Craig Elliott led BPA to a play off final last season but they were defeated in a penalty shootout by Emley.
Elliott has talented squad of players at his disposal which includes former Lions Dec Lambton, Connor Brown, Kareem Hassan-Smith, Jameel Ible, Prince Ekpolo, Adriano Moke, Luke Parkin, Robbie Fox, Adam Haw and Bailey Thompson.
There are also a couple of Lions in the Avenue backroom staff with Ryan Toulson and Steve Dickinson helping from the sideline.
Previous Meetings
Saturday marks the first competitive meeting between the two sides since New Year’s Day when Reece Kendall’s stunning strike earned the Lions all three points at the Horsfall.
The Lions have not lost to Avenue in the last six meetings between the sides but haven’t beaten them on home soil since a 3-0 FA Trophy win back in December 2023 when Ben Parker, Gavin Rothery and Alex Johnson struck.
