Following a home victory last time out, the Lions must visitor league leaders Lancaster City hoping to earn successive victories for the first time this season, writes Scott Kelly.
“At times we looked really good. They made themselves compact and hard to beat. I am disappointed that it was only 1-0 at half time”
Mark Bower felt the Lions were better first half, but they have ‘lots to iron out and bits to improve’ – whilst also adding his side are desperate for consistency.
Boss Mark Bower was disappointed post-match as he felt the Lions performed brilliantly against a side at the top of National League North.
Team News
With a quarter of the season gone, Lions fans will be delighted that there are no new injury concerns to contend with.
Liam Ridehalgh, Harrison Hopper, Lewis Knight and Jake Wright are the ones still missing, whilst Jay Buchan is serving the second of a three-game suspension.

The Opposition
Lancaster are sitting proudly atop the Northern Premier League, with seven wins, one draw and two defeats in their opening 10 league matches, they have 22 points from the opening 10 matches, with their first two defeats coming in the first two match days of the season.
Following an Emirates FA Cup defeat to Whitby Town, they have won all four of their league matches since, including consecutive 3-1 victories. Their most recent was the victory at Ashton United last weekend.
Kendal Town manager Jimmy Marshall took over the reins at the club in April following the departure of Chris Wilcock, and he has overseen a massive turnaround in fortunes for a club who finished 18th last season.
Nic Evangelinos and Dom Lawson are the clubs top goalscorers with three goals. Their squad is comprised with many from last season, including Evangelinos and Lawson. Brothers Sam & Charlie Bailey are still with the side, alongside the likes of midfielder Christian Sloan and Dylan Moonan.
Midfielder Bobby Bjork has also made his loan move from Ashton United permanent this week.

Previous Meetings
The Lions have not beaten Lancaster in their last eight meetings, stretching back to 2018. A victory here will be their first on record against the Dolly Blues, with their two previous visits to the Giant Axe being drawn.
Last season, Guiseley lost 2-1 at Nethermoor back in February, and a 1-1 draw came the previous October courtesy of a fortuitous own goal in stoppage time.
