Guiseley rescued a point last time out against Warrington Rylands and will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten run when Whitby Town visit Nethermoor this weekend, writes Scott Kelly.

Past Meetings
The sides met in September, when Ollie Brown’s late goal secured three points and a 2-1 win in North Yorkshire. The Lions also won in March, again 2-1 by the seaside.
Whitby were the 3-1 victors when they last visited Nethermoor.
That victory in August 2023 was the Lions only defeat against this opposition in the last 10 encounters. This fixture has not been drawn in that time, with all of the other nine games won by Guiseley, dating back to 2008.
Last Time Out
Guiseley 2-2 Warrington Rylands
The Lions had Jordan Thewlis and Will Longbottom to thank as their goals spared their blushes as they escaped a tricky encounter against Warrington Rylands with a point.
Ben Hardcastle’s penalty and Ntumba Massanka looked to put the Blues on their way to victory, but the Lions fought back to ensure their unbeaten run in the league stretches to eight matches. This point does however end a run of four straight victories.
Post-Match With The Gaffer
“We were the better team first half. We had more openings but nothing clear cut before they got their penalty”.
Boss Mark Bower admitted the side were gutted with just taking a point, but was pleased with the quick response after Warrington went two goals to the good.
“Jordan’s got that threat. Not just the goal but he was really good at linking play up and got us playing in the final third”.
Bower was delighted with Jordan Thewlis’ contribution, after scoring with pretty much his first touch. Bower admitted his fitness hasn’t been right and didn’t actually train on the Thursday before the game.
“Lewis looked sharp. He got himself into some good areas. He will need time to get to where he needs to be”.
Lewis Whitham got 20 minutes off the bench on Saturday, and Bower was pleased with his contribution but admits he is not yet in full shape.
The Lions’ Team News
The Lions are almost at full strength, with Liam Ridehalgh edging closer to a return.
Lucas Odunston was an unused substitute but should be fully fit. Jordan Thewlis did not train for part of last week, but his goal puts him in contention to start on Saturday. Lewis Whitham isn’t likely to start, despite a 20-minute cameo appearance at the weekend.
The only long-term injury absentee is Jake Wright.
Whitby Town
Manager: Gary Liddle
Stadium: Towbar Express Stadium
Nickname: The Blues
23/24 League Position: 12th
The Seasiders come into this weekend’s game in pretty decent form. They have won their last two games, both home encounters against Lancaster and Mickleover. Worksop and Gainsborough are the clubs only losses in the last nine league games.
This run has coincided with a change of manager. Nathan Haslam resigned in October after a poor start. They have taken 14 points in the eight games since Haslam’s departure and under Gary Liddle, who is still registered as a player aged 38.
Stephen Walker is the clubs top goalscorer and will be hoping to hit double figures on Saturday. Winger Nathan Thomas has five and former Lion Jake Charles, who scored for Whitby in their defeat to the Lions in September, has four.
