Guiseley are at home once again this weekend after a goalless midweek game and will be hoping for a victory when FC United of Manchester visit Nethermoor, writes Scott Kelly.

Past Meetings
Each side won their home matches last season, with Guiseley winning 3-1 in April courtesy of Reece Kendall, Kallan Murphy and an own goal.
The Reds won earlier in the season, winning a tightly fought contest 3-2 in November 2023 after Joe Stacey and Prince Ekpolo had scored for the Lions.
The away side has only won one of the 12 meetings between the sides, with Guiseley winning 2-1 at Broadhurst Park back in 2009.
Last Time Out
Guiseley 0-0 Blyth Spartans
Both sides took a share of the spoils in a game which the home side largely dominated. John Lufudu was a constant thorn in the Spartan’s side, and with the introduction of Jack Emmett late on the game only appeared to be going one way. A long spell of Guiseley pressure towards the end came to nothing, and the game finished 0-0.
The Lions were encouraged by the overall performance and the individual performances of the likes of Lufudu, Emmett and substitute Leo Farrell.
Post Match Reaction From The Gaffer
“First half we completely dominated. We forced them back. We got in good areas; our final ball was very poor. It was such a contrast to the rest of the performance”.
Boss Mark Bower lamented his sides performance in the final third after the Lions dominated possession.
“There were some really good performances tonight. Lucas (Odunston) was excellent. Will did a great job. Gabs first half was really good. They will be others in that dressing room who will be disappointed”.
Bower appeared encouraged by the performance and the visit of FC United is a good chance to build on the showing.
The Lions’ Team News
All of the squad seemed to make it through Tuesday’s game without any injuries, meaning boss Mark Bower has no new injury concerns to deal with.
Jake Lawlor sat out of Tuesday’s clash after appearing to pick up an injury against Macclesfield. Leo Farrell and Jack Emmett were introduced as subs on Tuesday night and will be hoping to start this one. Jake Wright and Lewis Whitham remain out – with the latter edging closer to a return.
A look at FC United of Manchester
Manager: Neil Reynolds
Stadium: Broadhurst Park
Nickname: The Reds
23/24 League Position: 14th
The Reds were involved in a goalless draw themselves on Tuesday night after they travelled to Whitby Town.
Like the Lions, they have only won one of their first four league games so far, 1-0 at Morpeth Town on the opening day. They followed that game with a defeat to Worksop and a draw to Ilkeston and they sit 12th in the NPL thus far, a point and three places above Guiseley.
There is no doubt that the club’s most notable signing is Adam Le Fondre, which has been seen as a major coup by those outside of the club. The 37-year-old has scored 50% of the club’s league goals so far, with the winner against Morpeth. Best known for his time at Reading and Bolton, Le Fondre has been matched in the goalscoring department by Declan Evans, who also joined the club this summer from Southport, after he scored in the 1-1 draw with Ilkeston.
The squad also includes Ex-Man United goalkeeper Ollie Byrne and former Lion Jordan Preston, who joined the club from Bradford Park Avenue this summer.
