Past Meetings
The first day in 2025 marks the third time we have met Bamber Bridge this season.
Back in August we took the points back to Yorkshire when Leo Farrell, Jameel Ible and Will Longbottom struck to edge out the Brig by the odd goal in five after being 2-0 down.
Bamber Bridge got their revenge in an Isuzu FA Trophy tie in early October at Nethermoor when Simon Grand’s second half header settled the tie.
The Lions did complete a league double over Bamber Bridge last season.
Last Time Out
Gainborough Trinity 0-2 Guiseley
The Lions ended 2024 with a victory on the road in Lincolnshire on Boxing Day when Jake Lawlor and Jordan Thewlis struck either side of the half-time break.
The deadlock was finally broken in first half stoppage time when Lawlor’s volley squirmed through Dylan Wharton in the home goal.
It was a first half which saw Wharton make several stunning saves and the ball crashed off the post and bar.
Trinity dominated the play but failed to make their possession count and Thewlis doubled the lead to make sure of the victory.
Sub Jack Emmett’s perfect pass picked out the forward who scored against his former club.
It marked a first win in four games for Bower’s men after three successive 1-1 draws.
The Lions’ Team News
The Lions go into this one with no fresh injury concerns and with a selection headache.
Jake Lawlor recovered from his nasty cut to feature in the last two games and John Lufudu should also be back in contention after missing the Boxing Day trip through illness.
Lewis Whitham was named on the bench for the Boxing Day game and could earn so more much needed minutes on New Year’s Day.
Leo Farrell has also come through the last three matches unscathed and will be available for the New Year’s Day clash.
Lucas Odunston and Jake Wright remain the only absentees.
