2022/23 End of Season Dinner Award Winners

The End of Season Dinner took place at Otley Golf Club at the end of April where various awards were presented to the First Team.

Paul Phillips and Gary Douglas both did short speeches at the end of the night with the manager looking ahead to a, hopefully, stronger campaign next time out and the chairman thanked all the staff and volunteers at the club for their help this season as well as praising all of the fans for their continued support.

Gary also made a presentation to Sue Clapham to thank her for organising the evening.

Players from the First Team were in attendance and all enjoyed a great evening to end the season.

The tables were once again set so that First Team players sat alongside the supporters – a touch which is much appreciated.

The Freda Collinson Rose Bowl, Volunteer of the Year award was presented to Sam Exley at the last home game of the season after all his hard work this campaign on the turnstiles and assisting in arranging volunteers to operate each gate on a matchday.

Kallan Murphy was named the Young Player of the Season by Paul Phillips after he reunited with the former Matlock manager back in December. The forward made 22 appearances finding the net once away at Marine.

Ross Daly won the Sponsors’ Player of the Season and was presented by Media Team member Dave Robertson as Jameel Ible bagged the GAFC Supporters’ Club Player of the Season.

Lewis Whitham took the crown of the Players’ Player of the Season on the night it was confirmed the winger had signed a new contract with the club for next season and has been able to book in for pre-operation procedures after a long time supporter of the club covered the difference in his fundraising total.

Finally Paul Phillips picked Courtney Meppen-Walters as his Player of the Season, the defender, on loan from Radcliffe, made 21 appearances scoring two goals.

Awards presented were:

Craig Shearstone Guiseley AFC Supporters’ Club Player of the Season – Jameel Ible
