The 2020/21 Vanarama National League North fixtures were announced this afternoon and The Lions’ season begins with a visit from Blyth Spartans on Tuesday 6th October.
After a long wait since football was halted in March The Lions start the campaign officially with an Emirates FA Cup second round qualifying tie on 3rd October with our opponents yet to be decided.
The league season kicks off on Tuesday 6th October where, under current guidance, fans will be able to attend Lions home and away matches once again, to accommodate the later start the season will end on Saturday 29th May with a vist from AFC Fylde who were relegated from the Vanarama National League via a PPG verdict.
Marcus Bignot and Russ O’Neill’s side have a congested October with visits from Blyth Spartans, Hereford and Brackley Town whilst travelling to Boston and Kettering as well as potentially two Emirates FA Cup ties to fit in.
The traditional festive double header will see the Lions host Farsley Celtic on Boxing Day with the return fixture on 2nd January, a visit to York City is sandwiched between those two fixtures.
Bradford (Park Avenue) visit Nethermoor on 30th January with the return fixture at Horsfall the penultimate game of the season on 22nd May, York City visit Nethermoor on the first day of May.
There’s also trips to potentially five new grounds for the travelling Lions fans to visit including Gloucester City’s new Meadow Park Stadium back in their home city, Kettering Town’s Latimer Park where we just missed out on making a trip last season, Darlington’s temporary home in The Northern Echo Arena, Boston United’s The Quadrant and York City’s LNER Community Stadium.
Information on potential Guiseley AFC Supporters’ Club travel details will be confirmed in due course.
