For the third time in a row, The Lions are out on the road again, this time with a northern trip to face promotion-chasing Spennymoor Town. The Moors came within inches of the playoffs last season and are looking to even further, and they’ve only lost one game this season so far. The Lions are hoping to right some recent wrongs and pick up their first win since the opening day against Spennymoor’s close rivals Blyth Spartans.

The Lions
Despite a disappointing result at the weekend, Guiseley were given a huge boost at the weekend by the returns of Kaine Felix and Jonathan Wafula to action. However the weekend wasn’t without its costs, Prince Ekpolo was sent off but is able to feature in Tuesday night’s game with his suspension kicking in from our home clash with Brackley Town. Lewis Hey and Brad Nicholson both picked up slight knocks but could have recovered. The first half was some of the best football Guiseley have played in recent weeks, hopefully The Lions will be able to take that forward and win their second game of the campaign.

Spennymoor Town
Spennymoor boast one of the strongest teams in the league on paper. Adriano Moke and Jamie Spencer are arguably the best acquisitions that Jason Ainsley made over the summer. The Moors retained their most valuable asset in Glenn Taylor who has six goals in seven games. The County Durham based outfit grabbed a well deserved point against Bradford (Park Avenue) at the end of a fiery affair. Former Lion Frank Mulhern could start against his old club after joining from National League side Stockport County.
