The Lions are back on the road for the second time this week, Joe Priestley previews the clash with AFC Telford United.
Saturday 28th November – 3pm kick-off
New Bucks Head Telford, TF12NW
Having picked up an important point on the road on Tuesday night, The Lions set out on their travels once again to take on AFC Telford. The Lions have struggled against Telford in cup and league competition in recent years, but having seen some progression since their return from self isolation, Guiseley go there perhaps only a few steps away from a first victory since October.
The Lions
Guiseley’s injury woes only worsened on Tuesday night with Kian Harratt and Isaac Currie going off injured. Kaine Felix is still out. Adam Haw sparkled on Tuesday night having been given his first proper shot at first team action and could push for a start. Nathan Newall continued his consistent good form, a great advertisement for the Guiseley Academy. Andy Kellett has looked good since his return from a pre-season injury and could play an integral role on Saturday.
Telford
Telford could be six men down for the fixture as their own injury crisis worsens. Shane Sutton and Courtney Meppen-Walters are both expected to miss out in a huge blow for the home side. Gavin Cowan expressed his disappointment to the local press this week but The Bucks can not be taken lightly. Ever present centre back Theo Streete will prove to be a challenge for the Guiseley attack to overcome, Dom McHale would love to add to his four goals so far. Telford recently dispatched of Guiseley’s local rivals Bradford Park Avenue and will be hoping to make it two wins in a row after a blip away to Chorley.
