Williams Recalled

We have recalled left-back Marcus Williams from his loan spell at York City with immediate effect.

Marcus began his career as a trainee with Scunthorpe United turning professional on 1st July, 2003.

He joined Reading on a free transfer in May 2010, signing a three-year deal, after he turned down a new contract at Scunthorpe.

At the start of the 2010–11 season Williams re-joined Scunthorpe United on loan until the end of the season.

The following season he went out on loan to Sheffield United eventually making it a permanent move.

He rarely featured for the Blades and following the arrival of new manager Nigel Clough Williams re-joined Scunthorpe United for a third time signing a permanent deal in January 2014, having had his contract with Sheffield United cancelled. Williams joined the Indian Super League with Kerala Blasters, backed by cricket super star Sachin Tendulkar, in September 2015.

He signed for Guiseley in August 2016 and last season made 36 appearances for the club.

This season he was not in new manager Paul Cox’s plans and went out on loan to York City last month.

Welcome back Marcus!
