Despite a hard fought game, the Vixens returned home without any points, losing 2-0 to Fylde Ladies.
Goals from Lauren Davies and captain Danielle Young were enough to seal the win for the coasters.
The game was stopped for a few minutes for Veatriki Sarri to receive treatment after she went down awkwardly, before going to hospital. All here at Guiseley would like to wish Veatriki all the best in her recovery.
Guiseley gave a good account of themselves, playing good fluid football but were lacking in the final third.
The scoring was opened in the 14th minute when Lauren Davies found herself on the edge of the Vixens box, producing a brilliant first-time shot which bounced off the post and in to put the home side one.
Guiseley had a chance to score just over five minutes later. A good build up ended with Danica Roberts laying off the ball to Ebony Njie but her shot was denied by Fylde goalkeeper Alex Brooks.
From here, the Vixens didn’t stop pushing for an equaliser but all efforts on goal were saved.
In the second half, it was much the same with both sides keeping the other at bay.
Despite Guiseley pushing hard for a goal, Fylde bagged another ten minutes from time. A cross was put in and it hit captain Danielle Young in the stomach before going past the keeper.
Fiona Worts was brought on late in the game to make her competitive debut for the club and had the chance to score but her header went wide.
The Vixens return to Nethermoor next weekend when they take on Stoke City Ladies.
