We can confirm Niall Heaton was released from hospital after being taken in for precautionary checks last night.

Three minutes into the fixture with Curzon Ashton the defender suffered a head injury and was unable to continue.

An ambulance was called and Heaton was taken to Tameside General Hospital for precautionary checks, shortly after he was driven home.

We’d like to thank the ambulance staff and everyone at the hospital for their help on the night.
