Danny Ellis was appointed as our player manager on 11th May 2022, he spent 10 years playing for the club as a defender and another decade working with the academy and community foundation arms of the club.
The experienced centre back made 463 appearances for the club in his first spell and is back at Nethermoor for more in a player manager role.
Ellis started his career at home-town club Bradford City, playing for the club’s youth teams for eight years before signing a professional contract in 2005.
The centre-back was released when he was 19 and he then signed for The Lions where he helped win promotion from the EvoStik Premier to the National League North in 2010 and subsequently to the National League in 2015.
Danny then played for Harrogate Town for two seasons, leaving when they decided to go full time. He signed for Farsley in 2017 and helped them to win the EvoStik League title in 2019.
Darlington snapped him up when he was released by Farsley in November 2021 and he made his debut in the 3-0 home win over AFC Telford United.
On 21st November 2022 it was confirmed that the club had parted company with Danny Ellis, the manager had made nine appearances to clock up 450 for the club.
