Paul Cox returned to his former employers and steered the Lions to their first away point of the season with a battling goalless draw.
The football on offer wasn’t always pretty but the blustery conditions with constant driving rain didn’t aid either team.
Cox retained the line up that had drawn with Eastleigh on Saturday but the was the home team who were first to threaten with Bedsente Gomis foiled by Joe Green.
Adi Yussuf was then just short of connecting with Byron Harrison’s cross at the far post.
Guiseley replied with a quickly taken free kick that Connor Brown whipped in a cross only to see his effort cannon back of off the far post and Jake Lawlor putting his diving header wide from six yards out on the follow up.
Danny Lowe and Joe Green nearly conspired to gift the home side an opening at the start of the second half before the latter recovered to collect the loose ball.
Asa Hall volleyed over from twenty yards as the weather deteriorated as Danny Lowe’s cross-come-shot was tipped over by Stuart Moore.
Kevan Hurst’s replaced Molyneux and went close with two long range efforts the first of which was a whisker the wrong side of the post.
The result sees the Lions unbeaten in two under Cox’s tenureship but they remain second from bottom with only managerless Torquay below them.
