Lions Local Heroes – Julie Glossop

The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the work of so many people and one of those is our sixth Lions Local Hero Julie Glossop.

We all know someone who at this moment of time is quietly going about their business, but what they are doing is fantastic. So let’s share their good deeds with each other and give someone a virtual pat on the back from everyone linked with Guiseley AFC.

You can send your nominations in through via Facebook and Twitter or by email to trudi.miller@guiseleyafc.co.uk, just tell us why they are your local hero and send us a photo.

Julie who works as a carer in a home in Leeds looking after elderly and vulnerable people has been putting in the hours in recent weeks during these unprecedented times.

The Lions supporter, who travels up and down the country to watch her side with her husband Mick as and when she can, normally works in the day but has been covering night shifts to ease the pressure on the home who are dealing with staff illness and the need to protect those they are looking after.

We received a nomination for Julie as she is a dedicated carer to the local community and her hard work at this time is appreciated more than ever.
