Lewis Walters Signs For The Lions

We are delighted to announce the signing of Lewis Walters, a player brought up through the Leeds United Academy playing for the Under-18’s and Under-23’s alongside Guiseley midfielder Alex Purver.

Walters, 23, joined Nottingham Forest in July 2016.

Last season Walters played for National League side Barrow on a season long loan from Forest.

The winger or striker was at one time on the fringes of the Leeds United first team but injuries have affected his career.

He signed a contract extension at the City Ground in summer 2017 and was a regular for Forest’s Under-23s before going out on loan for the season at Barrow.

Forest Under-23s coach Jack Lester said:” If he hadn’t sustained a hamstring injury I think he would have been in and around the first team.”

At the end of last season Walters was released by Forest and at the start of the current season he was on trial at Carlisle United.

The forward is eligible for today’s trip to Alfreton Town.

Welcome to Nethermoor Lewis!
